I got a new lens last Thursday! It’s a Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens! I didn’t expect to get such a good lens. 🙂
Its an upgrade and a replacement for the 18-55mm kit lens that died early this year. Repairing the 18-55mm was too costly so must as well get a new better quality lens. The lens was released just last year. After going shop by shop at BB Plaza, KL, I managed to buy the Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens + Hoya UV Filter for RM 2400! Other shops were selling the lens alone for RM 2800-3000. Isn’t it a good buy?
According to reviews, the lens has a very good image quality. I haven’t got to really test that. But, its 4-stops IS system really works well. It keeps image reasonably sharp even at shutter 1/5 @ 15mm! The distance scale on the lens makes hyperfocal focusing possible. Focusing is very accurate and silent thanks to USM. I’ll be taking some pictures soon! Stay tune.. 😀
